RECS 24 APR 07

Sir,

Referring to M.214 also M.25900 I am leaving England (Cardiff) on Saturday next (April 20) for Madeim

as emigrant doctor for 1350 Portuguese to Honolulu so

I shall not reach San Francisco or get letters till July.

I presume that copies of my letters were sent in confidence to Governor Nathan of Hong Kong. In case

they have to come before the new Governor Sir Fredk. Lugard I think it right to state that he is my first cousin and though he himself does not personally know me he knows from his family my reputation.

I shall have more opportunities of seeing conditions of life of seamen on British ships to add to my previous experiences of five years, about.

Faithfully, 800.,

(Sa) John H. Pugh,

Buckhurst Hill,

April 18,1907.

Post & Telegraph address

Dr Pugh

Buckhurst Hill .

My ship will be the S. S. Kumeric
